Disaronno is the world’s favourite Italian liqueur. The legend of its original recipe began in 1525, when a pupil of Leonardo da Vinci received a flask full of a fragrant, delicate amber-coloured liqueur as a gift from a model he had chosen to depict the Madonna in one of his paintings, still well preserved in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Miracles in Saronno. Since then, the recipe has been secretly passed from one generation to the next of the Reina family, who still owns the company to this day.
The unmistakable “square cap” bottle, in shiny hammered glass, was handcrafted in the 1970s by a master glassmaker from Murano (Venice), who created an iconic piece of craftwork. The Disaronno bottle is testament to the Brand’s quality and sophisticated and contemporary style, embellished with a golden label symbolising tradition: from the original signature of the founder Domenico Reina, to the Family’s heraldic coat of arms.
