To get into Bee’s Knees, you first need to find it, so keep an eye out for a yellow door with ‘The Book Store’ written on it and a discreet emblem of a bee. This New York-inspired speakeasy opened in April 2018 and has been serving up Prohibition-era cocktails (with a twist), throwback hip hop tunes, and a fun, casual vibe ever since. The dimly lit venue oozes atmosphere and is laid out so that all patrons can sit at the bar. Some of the signature drinks include a Smoked Mojito, and of course the namesake Bee’s Knees. The bar is run by Toru Ariyoshi, a world champion flair bartender so you might get drinks and a show if you’re lucky. After a hugely successful inaugural year, Bee’s Knees receives the Disaronno Highest New Entry Award 2020.
