After a spell on the sidelines, Artesian is on its way to being back to its best. The new leadership team of Remy Savage (ex-Little Red Door) and Anna Sebastian (ex-Beaufort Bar) were hired to resurrect this famous bar’s reputation and they’ve done just that, bringing energy and fresh ideas to transform the menu and atmosphere of the Langham Hotel’s flagship bar. The new Minimalist menu couldn’t be further from the old Artesian mould – theatrical, often bonkers serves – but is just as creative. Pairing two ingredients in elegant glasses, this is stripped-back drinks-making with an emphasis on clean, complementary flavour combinations. Though drinks are never that simple in Savage’s hands, with either unusual ingredients (try the Armagnac and Zalotti Blossom) or infused spirits (how about the Chartreuse Jaune VEP and Sunflower Seed Vodka?) stretching the concept to delicious effect. Artesian may look the same, but in the details that matter, it’s a new experience entirely.
