Now settled into to its new location after a fire closed the original location a few blocks away in San Francisco’s Union Square, Pacific Cocktail Haven is back and better than ever. With double the capacity but no less charm, Kevin Deidrich’s flavorful ode to Asian Pacific flavors is a destination bar for Bay Area dwellers and cocktail tourists alike.

Whether the bar is buzzing early with the after-work crowd, or really bustling on weekend nights, the savvy bartenders don’t skip a beat, offering friendly (but not overbearing) hospitality as they serve up tropical-leaning drinks. Big maroon banquettes offer enough space for small groups to mingle, but the ambiance is welcoming enough for the solo drinker wandering in for an empty bar stool, too. Don’t miss out on some of the bar’s signature drinks while visiting, like the searingly fresh Oh, Snap! Cocktail – a revitalising G&T-inspired highball made with snap pea, gin, manzanilla sherry, absinthe and citrus. Or keep an eye out for cocktails made with Diedrich’s other favorite ingredients: pandan, ube, and calamansi. There is no bad seat in the house, but when the weather is warm, nab one of the front patio seats for ideal people-watching.
