Licorería Limantour

Mexico City

Mexico City’s celebrated craft cocktail scene started with Licorería Limantour in 2011. Limantour may be the godfather, but the technicolour, bilevel neon bar is still a party. Limantour may be a crowded scene, but an elite bar staff ensures that drinks flow fast – and perfectly. Founder Benjamin Padrón and bar manager José Luis León crafted a menu celebrating their Roma, CDMX home with highlights like the Mezcal Stalk (mezcal, orange liqueur, pineapple juice, agave honey, rimmed with worm salt) and the beloved Margarita al Pastor (tequila, orange liqueur, taco mix and lime).

The bar’s stature also makes Limantour a magnet for the bar community; you never know what visiting bartender you’ll find posted up at the hotspot. In fact, Limantour recently ran an entire menu celebrating their many friends on the 50 Best list. The list was presented in a handsome book replete with custom artwork rendered in vivid colours. The gorgeous presentation was no surprise; one does not stay as renowned as Limantour for this long without high standards.
