Broken Shaker’s origin story is the stuff of legend. For a couple years, the Broken Shaker was simply a traveling tiki pop-up boasting a massive cult following amongst cocktailians in-the-know. Then, in 2012, Broken Shaker opened a permanent location at Miami’s Freehand Hotel. Fast forward a decade and the bar touts a list of bona fides, including all of the industry’s major awards as well as locations in four US cities.

The Florida location is the original and the bustling outdoor bar’s art deco stylings amplify the city’s storied aesthetic. Colourful tiki drinks round out the tropical vibe with original recipes such as the Shaker Hopper (gin, creme de cacao, creme de menthe and amaro coconut-milk foam). True to Miami style, bottle service, replete with a dazzling array of mixers, is also available at table. Shaker is the darling of the craft beverage set. But don’t expect formality; the vibe at the lounge from Elad Zvi and Gabriel Orta is fun. Broken Shaker offers a bustling, exuberant celebration of life under the Florida sun – and drinks to match the mood.
