8-9 Hoxton Square, London N1 6NU
Whatever the weather outside, inside Happiness Forgets there is always warm, old-fashioned hospitality. This is a small place, with exposed brick walls and a scantly furnished back bar – but everything is here for a reason. The spirits are hand-selected by owner Ali Burgess and the staff run an orderly ship. You are greeted and seated on your way in and waved off on your way out, with immaculate service in between.
Happiness Forgets, with its laid-back vibe, may appear off-the-cuff, but nothing is left to chance. The atmosphere hums on a daily basis, because whatever new bar may be flavour of the month in London, Happiness Forgets is always the go-to for good drinks and good times. The menu doesn’t change, but evolves as new cocktails are conceived. Those that prosper stay, so you’ll still find the Perfect Storm – a harmonious blend of rum, honey, ginger and plum brandy – now a firm fixture in this Hoxton hideaway.
