28 HongKong Street
28 Hongkong Street, Singapore 059667
Year on year, 28 HongKong Street continues to impress, with its mix of no-nonsense classics and subtle twists, which is why it has become known as one of the cornerstones of the burgeoning Singapore bar scene. Stepping in, it’s hard to argue otherwise. The low-lit booth-style seating and jazz/hip-hop soundtrack immediately invites you to relax and feel at home, looked after by highly attentive staff, who clearly know their stuff.
Ask for an Old Fashioned and you’ll be treated to a beautifully complex, balanced classic, with an ice block hand-stamped with the bar’s logo. Similarly you can feel as comfortable asking for something more bespoke, giving the bartender free rein on your senses. No visit would be complete without trying the almost legendary bar snacks, including the mac ’n’ cheese balls, which should probably come with some sort of warning, given how moreish they are.
