James Bond would approve of this suave Bangkok destination, which takes its name from the secret agent's latterly choice of martini. The creation of Choti and Debby Leenutaphong, who took inspiration from Martini-led London bars such as Dukes in Mayfair, Vesper has evolved since opening in 2014 with barrel-aged interpretations of classic cocktails, plus mixes inspired by modern art. The latest menu, under the stewardship of Thai cocktail veteran Supawit ‘Palm’ Muttaratana, extends the concept of contrasts, with new creations such as Street Fine Dining; LGBTQ+ Male, Female; and Democrat Republican – the latter featuring tequila, vermouth, chocolate bitters and corn chip. The ‘Hall of Fame’ section of the menu still holds the classics, including the Hemingway Sazerac and Ginger Gimlet.
