No. 138, Section 2, Fuxing South Road, Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan
At this music-themed hostelry, which is another new entry to Asia’s 50 Best Bars for 2019, stacks of old vinyl records and vintage cassettes sit alongside beakers containing spices, berries, and seeds from around the world. The old-world feel meets a retro aesthetic, honing in on Taiwanese and core Asian flavours including oolong tea and mung bean to craft its drinks. The bar team here builds sophisticated tipples with a playful twist, like Acid Party Girl, a blend of cachaça, pandan leaf, fermented pineapple and coconut, served in a rocks glass with a small smiley face blotter stamp to represent the early incarnations of the hallucinogenic drug.
