The drinks industry's most eagerly awaited night of the year, The World's 50 Best Bars awards will take place at Christ Church Spitalfields in London on October 6 2016.

Cocktail historian David Wondrich and drinks commentator Tom Sandham will again host the evening, counting down from bars 50 to 1 before an audience of 500 of the industry’s elite.

Organised and compiled by Drinks International magazine and voted for by 476 of the leading figures of the global bar industry, the World’s 50 Best Bars is now in its eighth year.

The awards announced at the event fall into the following categories:

• Best bar in the World

• Best bar in Europe

• Best bar in North America

• Best bar in Latin America

• Best bar in Africa and the Middle East

• Best bar in Asia

• Best bar in Australasia

• Highest Climber

• Highest New Entry

• Legends of the List

The World’s 50 Best Bars again takes place during London Cocktail Week (October 3-9).

Located just minutes from London’s Liverpool Street station, Christ Church Spitalfields is a 300-year-old restored Baroque church, considered to be Nicholas Hawksmoor's architectural masterpiece.

The ceremony, which will feature world class cocktails from The World’s 50 Best Bars 2016 sponsors, is invitation only.
